2 days, 3 hour class each day – July 8th AND July 15th
Skills needed:
Basic straight line sewing
Knowledge of how to lay out a pattern and cut it

You will learn:
to take measurements and chose the correct pattern size for you,
to sew a dart,
to treat a facing with understitching,
to top stitch,
to make a buttonhole,
to apply a patch pocket,
to insert an invisible zipper, and
to hem a pair of pants.

Supply list:
 Sewing machine or call to rent sewing machine (If you bring your own machine, it must be in
working order.)
Sewing Essentials:
 Sewing machine needles
 Seam ripper
 Fabric scissors
 Fabric pins or clips
 Thread
 Measuring tape (flexible)
 Hand sewing needles
 Thread scissors
 Sewing tracing paper
 Tracing wheel
 Tracing paper to trace the pattern
 Pencil and eraser
 Straight edge ruler
 Scotch tape
 Paper scissors
 Fabric (light or medium weight woven cotton, linen, hemp or wool. Avoid fabric with a nap,
heavy weight, stretch or slippery)
 Interfacing
