Beginning SAHSHIKO (Hitomezashi-Style)

All supplies included!

We will focus on Hitomezashi-style sashiko, which is made using running stitches worked on a grid.

In this 2.5 hour class, participants will

• become acquainted with basic tools
• establish a grid on a fabric sample
• begin exercises in unshin (“handling the needle”), beginning with an offset running stitch, the basis for many Hitomezashi patterns
• enjoy the company of other enthusiastic stitchers
