Beginning Sashiko (Hitomezashi style)

We will focus on Hitomezashi-style sashiko, which is made using running stitches worked on a grid.
In this 2.5 hour class, participants will
- become acquainted with basic tools
- establish a grid on a fabric sample
- begin exercises in unshin (“handling the needle”), beginning with an offset running stitch, the basis for many Hitomezashi patterns
- enjoy the company of other enthusiastic stitchers
