Sewing 101 – SIX CLASSES

Want to learn how to sew? Don’t have a clue where to start? WE ARE HERE TO HELP!
In this 6-part course you will learn all the basics of sewing on our beginner friendly classroom sewing machines (included in the class fee). By the end of this series, you will learn proper sewing techniques (pinning, cutting, etc.) the basics of bag making, working with zippers, reading and using patterns, the basics of garment construction, working with various fabrics and MORE!
Staring with an into to the sewing machine and winding a bobbin, threading the machine and operation, we will then make a drawstring bag. The next project will include bags with zippers and finally a pair of pajama pants!
This class is for anyone who has little to no sewing experience as well as those who have sewn for years and need a good basic refresher. Absolutely no sewing experience is required.
Ages 16+ (We have kids and tween classes coming in September)
Materials Required available at Winter Solstice Sewing & Crafts:
It’s a Cinch pattern
Two fat quarters of fabric
One and a half yards of half inch twill tape
1 spool of thread to coordinate with your fabrics
Sewing tool kit (Available soon at Winter Solstice)
