SUMMARY:Valentine's Bralette and Panty Set (an Intro to Sergers) Night One
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of sewing with knit fabrics on a serger. Week 1 we will make bikini style panties to match a reversible bralette that we’ll make during week 2. Week 1 is done exclusively on a serger\,  unless the ruching option is chosen; Week 2 will use both the serger and sewing machine.\n\n    Skills you’ll learn: \n\n\nworking with knits\nsewing from a pattern\nusing a serger\nattaching knit bands\ninstalling elastic\nzig-zag stitch\n(optional) elastic ruching\n\n\n   What you’ll take home after course completion: 2 panties\, 1 reversible bralette\n\nDates/times: 2 week mini course – Thursdays 6-9pm Feb 5th  AND  Feb 12th\n\nSupply list:\n\n\nStudent supplies: 2.5yd knit fabric with 50% 4-way stretch and good recovery (1.25yd main\, 1.25yd coordinate); cotton/spandex recommended\, but other spandex blends work well too\nThread to match\nInstructor provides bra band elastic and clear elastic\nTools/Supplies student can bring if they have them: soft measuring tape\, sewing clips/pins\, scissors/rotary cutter\, cutting mat\, ruler\, loop turner (Shop and or instructor some to be shared as well)\nStudents can bring their own serger if they have one as well\nPattern is included! YAY!\n\n\nOther information:\n     Fabric kits will be available at the shop! Stay tuned for more information coming soon!\n\n\nPrerequisites: some sewing knowledge/experience preferred (you have used a sewing machine before); ideal for any level sewist who is wanting to work with stretch fabrics and elastic; can be brand new to working on a serger!
